A Great Day

Yesterday, Monday July 18, 2006, it was great. Why you ask? Well I will tell you why. I ran, I ran outside, I ran fast...(relatively fast) and I was able to get out of bed the next day and did feel pain all over my back. For the first time since november 2005, I ran outside. Those of you who don't run, may not be able to identify with this, but think of the thing that lets you feel free and energizes you, clears your head, all of the above. And imagine if that thing cause you unbearable pain for 9 months...suck.

I went from not being able to bend of for three days to running six miles yesterday and it was awesome!!! I felt so jazzed I could fall asleep last night I was so revved up...and honestly a little worried if I overdid it and wouldn't be able to get out of bed today, but I did and I felt fine. AAAHHHHH!!!! take that body, take that old age, take that...you...yeah.

Well, just thought I would share this with all of you, if anyone likes to run, be inspired by my story of perseverence and know that you can overcome anything that is overcomeable...I am a realist.

peace out,
J the running fool

happy 4th

hello all,

I hope everyones summer is going well. I have been busy, really busy, but good busy, not bad busy, good...good. Anyway, happy 4th to everyone, I had a great weekend at the cabin, food, friends, fun, and sleep oh the glorious sleep.

We are coming along on the house really nice, only 2 weeks behind...acording to my dad, but that could actually mean we are two weeks ahead (a little inside, I know). It has been fun manual labor during the day and I finally picked up the book "Plato's Republic" that has been on my shelf for 5 years, good stuff.

ok let's see, what is running through my brian today. hmmmm

hmmmm
hmmmm

I saw the "lost boys of Sudan" good flic, very interesting how the U.S. ships these refugees to America and basically, gives them an apartment, a job and that's it. Check it out!

Oh yeah and I now have a gash in my head, compliments of an aluminum pole sticking out under our dock, oh yeah, don't worry the doctor glued it shut, yes that's right and you thought elmers was for construction paper. Good times, kudos to my friend Jen for taking me to the hospital, I don't know if I would have survived, its one of the those moments where life really hits you, I mean you have a good 1/4 inch gap in your head and you say to yourself, I could die, I mean really die. Whoa and then you get home watch world cup reruns till 3am wake up and water the lawn. And life keeps moving. Wierd.

well that is enough for now, peace out and hey let's all hook up sometime...I mean it is the 4th, whose BBQing?

hello all,

It is a beautiful day here in sunny MN (that's minnesota for the non-locals) It is about 80 degrees outside with just a slight cool breeze. The sun is shining and the clouds are large and plenitful, making for great sky dreaming, but alas I am watching all of this from my table in the library.

I am faced out at a world passing by as I dilligently work on finishing my studies. In my time here...at the library....I have been pondering history, the meaning of exisitence, and our general collective reality as a whole. It has been a vivacious time of thought and exploration.

so many have come before us and with all honesty we have no idea who will come after us or if anyone will. Are we the end? or just another beginning? Well, before I begin to digress, the point is that at lunch today the lunch lady (Deb) gave me free cake and coffee. It was amazing. So you can take you existential reality stuff and put it where the cake don't get eaten...

Have a great memorial day and remember our forbearers died so that I could be in the library all weekend studying...seriously, freedom I am not in some dumb nazi youth camp or at a canadian youth camp...or an Iowan youth camp. Thank you forebearers

and thank you winne the pooh, I do wonder what he is pondering. I feel as though his love of honey and wearing little clothing can teach us all something about how to be better people. don't you agree

this is my buddy marvin, he sold my sweet ride. Also he was giving me a little help with the ladies. He told me that women love a project, so he told me this line that never fails...for him.

"So, my counselor said I should meet new people."

I think I am going to go to calhoun and try it out this afternoon.

peace all

hello all,

As some of you know I have been havin back problems the past 6 months. One of the main therapy things I do is stretch...like 4 times a day. After 6 months I have become very limber. Well who knew that this could lead to being hit on.

Apparently being limber is a pretty sexy thing. I was stretching in the club the other day and this lady came up to me and said, wow you like a gymnist. Oh yeah I said.

All this time, I have been running, and lifting wieghts thinking that is what women want. Well now I know. All they want is a man who is limber, limber like a gymnist.

Aweseom! well that tip is free, the part I am not telling you is how painful stretching is.

peace,
